Springtown woman killed in Parker County crash
A Springtown woman was killed and her passenger was injured Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck just north of Weatherford, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper said Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Janean Kennedy, 49, of Springtown. The passenger in her vehicle, Nicholas Kennedy, 20, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. His condition was not available Tuesday.
DPS trooper Richard Hunter said Tuesday that no other injuries were reported.
The crash occurred at about 5 p.m. Monday on Farm to Market Road 51, near Carter Road, north of Weatherford.
Kennedy was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla north on the farm road when her car was hit from behind by a 2008 Ford F-250 pickup as she tried to make a turn, Hunter said. The pickup also was northbound.
On impact, the pickup veered into the southbound lanes and hit a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by a 52-year-old Millsap woman. The drivers of the pickup and Ford Fusion were not injured.
According to investigation reports, the 38-year-old pickup driver from Weatherford was issued a citation and no additional charges are expected, Hunter said in a Tuesday email.
