Lewisville firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The department sent 11 units to a “big box” retail building under construction in the 1300 block of Summit Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found “smoke conditions throughout the majority of the structure and an active, advancing fire on the roof,” the Fire Department said.

In a Facebook post, the Lewisville Fire Department said that due to an “aggressive fire attack mentally,” they were able to keep the fire contained to the roof.

They thanked the Flower Mound Fire Department, Lake Cities Fire Department, The Colony Fire Department, and Carrollton Fire Department for their assistance, as well as their volunteer rehab unit who helped to keep all the firefighters hydrated.
