A convention center and boutique hotel are coming to downtown Roanoke with construction scheduled to begin in September.

The work should be completed in 2028.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the convention center and hotel, with an estimated cost of almost $100 million, will be at 600 S. Oak St.

The five-story boutique hotel will feature 205 rooms, an outdoor pool, restaurant and garage. The hotel brand and official name haven’t been finalized, said city spokesperson Sandra Pettigrew.

“The project continues to move forward, and we remain excited about the opportunities it will bring to Roanoke, including expanded tourism, meeting space, and economic development opportunities for the community.”

In May 2025, voters approved a $62 million bond package which will help fund the hotel and convention center project.

The hotel and convention center, on about 3.5 acres, will be about a block east of city Hall.

The famous Peabody Hotel was going to build on the site, but Roanoke scrapped the project because of delays from the developer.
