56-year-old Weatherford man killed in Wise County motorcycle crash

A 56-year-old Weatherford man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Wise County on Monday, June 1, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Highway Patrol troopers responded to the crash about 7 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 920 near Private Road 3738, DPS said in a news release.
The rider, Shaun Allan Waits, died at the scene, DPS said.
Investigators determined that Waits was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling south on FM 920 at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate a curve. Waits, who was not wearing a helmet, went off the road and laid the motorcycle over, the release stated.
The investigation is ongoing, according to DPS.
