A private religious school in Granbury has ties to a man convicted in 2004 of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl.

John Conditt, 75, is listed with the Texas Secretary of State as manager of the nonprofit Trinity Bible Institute, which, according to Secretary of State filings, operates the Turning Point Academy of Granbury, a K-12 school set to open in the fall that is affiliated with the conservative Turning Point USA movement.

Turning Point Academy of Granbury is also listed on the home page of the Trinity Bible Institute’s website.

The address for the Trinity Bible Institute provided in Secretary of State filings is the same as the home address given for Conditt on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s sex offender website. According to that site, Conditt is required to register annually as a sex offender for life.

Conditt formerly worked as an FBI agent before his conviction. He admitted in court to having molested the girl approximately 10 or more times in his Southlake home before she reported the abuse to her father. According to Star-Telegram reports from the time, the victim’s parents were also FBI agents.

Conditt also admitted to the judge in his case he had molested other girls decades earlier, before becoming an FBI agent. He retired from the bureau in 2001.

The Star-Telegram was unable to reach Conditt for comment. Greg Rhodes, director and secretary of the Trinity Bible Institute, did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment. A phone message left for Shawna Keomisy, head of Turning Point Academy of Granbury, was not returned.

Last week, the Star-Telegram reported that Keomisy, formerly Shawna Gunter, was convicted in 2014 of wire fraud and identity theft for misrepresenting herself as a licensed health care professional while working in a Maryland pediatric office.

Her husband, Souksavath Noi Keomisy, pleaded guilty in 2009 to felony federal charges of conspiracy to possess the drug ecstasy with the intent to distribute.

In addition to Turning Point Academy of Granbury, Trinity Bible Institute manages the Shepherd’s Corner Preschool in Kalingalinga, Zambia.

The Shepherd’s Corner website says the school “provides quality early childhood education rooted in Christian values.”

Turning Point Academy of Granbury touts itself as “a Christ-centered K-12 school” on its website.
