Boil water notice in effect for Hudson Oaks following construction mishap
The City of Hudson Oaks is notifying customers to boil their water prior to consumption following a construction mishap.
The boil water notice only applies to customers of the Hudson Oaks public water system. It is not in effect for the Trinity River Estates and Dyegard.
A contractor hit a main water line recently during an ongoing construction, the city said in a news release. While the water line has been repaired and pressure restored, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the city to issue the notice due to reduced distribution system pressure, the city said. The city will notify customers when the boil water notice is no longer in effect.
Customers should boil water prior to washing their hands or face, brushing their teeth, drinking or cooking. The city stressed children, seniors and those with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable to harmful bacteria. Water should be brought to a high boil and then left boiling for two minutes. Customers can also purchase bottled water if they are not able to or do not want to boil their water.
