Eastbound Loop 820 has been closed near Holiday Lane in North Richland Hills after a minor crash involving a fuel spill, police said Wednesday afternoon.

North Richland Hills fire crews are on scene to deal with the hazmat situation and police are working to divert traffic to clear the backup, police said in a social media post.

No one was injured in the crash, police said.

Officials urge drivers to plan an alternate route home if the affected highway is involved in their commute.

No estimate was immediately available for when the road may reopen. The closure for hazmat cleanup is expected to last well into the evening rush hour and possibly beyond that time, police said. The North Richland Hills Police Department will provide updates on its Facebook page.
