Dallas Baptist University has issued an all clear after previously canceling classes and evacuating the campus Thursday morning due to unspecified threats against the school, according to officials.

University officials said the Dallas Police Department and FBI both investigated the threats and determined there were no active or ongoing threats to the campus community. Classes and normal university operations will resume Friday.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner had been scheduled to speak at the campus during a summit Thursday, the Dallas Morning News first reported.

According to a statement obtained by Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV, school officials were “made aware of several unverified threats involving the campus.” All classes were canceled and the campus was evacuated while the threats were being investigated.

Officials said in the statement that they are working closely with law enforcement and there is “no confirmed indication of immediate danger.”

Dallas Baptist University is a private Christian university located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway in southwest Dallas.
