Two bicyclists with the Frisco Triathlon Club were killed after a crash with a vehicle in Denton County Saturday morning, Pilot Point police said in a news release.

Pilot Point police officers responded after several 911 callers reported that two bicyclists had been stuck by a vehicle on Farm Road 455 east of Fritcher Road. Officers from surrounding agencies responded to assist in the investigation, police said.

Pilot Point EMS and Celina fire department responded to the scene, where one bicyclist was taken to Celina Methodist Hospital and later died, police said.

Another bicyclist was flown by CareFlite to Medical City Plano, where he also died, police said.

The two bicyclists, Scott Mages and Andre Kocher were members of the Frisco Triathlon Club.

“We are heartbroken,” the club wrote in a social media post.

The driver of the vehicle drove a short distance after the collision but returned to the scene before officers arrived. The driver was cooperative with the investigation, police said.

No arrests have been announced in this incident.
