A Fort Worth man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison in the 2024 murder of his mother’s boyfriend.

Isaiah Henderson, 23, was arrested in June 2024, accused of killing 40-year-old Patrick Blow while he slept in a home he shared with Henderson and Henderson’s mother in the 2800 block of Meadow Ridge Drive in southwest Fort Worth.

Detectives said Henderson shot Blow in the upper body.

According to court records, Henderson pleaded guilty to the killing on Dec. 5. A statement put out by the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office on X (formerly Twitter) said Blow had been in a relationship with Henderson’s mother for 13 years prior to his death.

Henderson’s mother told police at the time of the murder there had been no altercation between her son and Blow.

Henderson was charged with first-degree murder and faced up to 99 years in prison. His attorney did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
