Construction is expected to begin next year on an 80-room boutique hotel under the Hilton banner in Burleson’s burgeoning commercial district on Hidden Creek Parkway near the Chisenhall Fields Sports Complex and Bailey Lake Park.

The hotel, named The Standard, will be a Hilton Tapestry Collection property. It is being developed in partnership with Burleson-based Windmiller Properties, which in the last few years has built up the site on Hidden Creek to attract restaurants and retail.

According to the Hilton Tapestry website, the brand’s hotels are typically in areas ranging from “up-and-coming downtown districts to secluded locations surrounded by nature.” The new Nobleman Hotel on Bryan Avenue in Fort Worth’s Near Southside is a Hilton Tapestry property.

The Standard hotel’s developers have committed to investing a minimum of $18 million into the project. In return, the city of Burleson is offering a 75% rebate on the hotel occupancy tax for seven years beginning in 2029, up to a maximum rebate of $1.3 million.

Construction should begin by May 2026. The hotel is expected to be open by Dec. 31, 2027. In addition to the guest rooms, there will be a restaurant on site and retail suites on the hotel’s ground floor.

In a presentation to the Burleson City Council in October, Economic Development Director Alex Philips said the hotel will likely contribute more than $7 million to the local tax base over its first 20 years in operation. Even with the rebate, Philips said it’s a tremendous value to the community.

“This project represents a major investment in Burleson’s future,” Philips said in a release. “We’re excited to welcome The Standard and the Hilton Tapestry brand to our community, and we look forward to the opportunities it will bring for tourism, local business and the overall experience in Burleson.”

Today, there is a corridor of value-priced and mid-range hotels near Burleson along Interstate 35, but the majority of those are in the Fort Worth city limits. The Standard will be one of only four hotels in the city of Burleson, and the only one away from the interstate.

“Our market is ripe for the hospitality industry,” Philips said.

Going hand-in-hand with the hotel news is the announcement that Burleson was named a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community by Travel Texas, part of the state’s Economic Development and Tourism Office.

Philips said that designation will help with marketing the city to potential visitors as well as companies and organizations that put together travel packages.
