Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare reacts to shooting at Dallas ICE facility
Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare said Wednesday morning he was praying for the victims and their families after the shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas.
One detainee was killed and two injured at a Dallas field office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot.
“It shouldn’t be unexpected with the violent political rhetoric we see from so-called leaders and the constant bashing of law enforcement,” O’Hare posted on X.
FBI Director Kash Patel said on social media that an initial review of evidence shows an ideological motive may have been found in unspent shell casing engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.”
O’Hare called for the violence to stop, saying he is praying for the victims and their families. His statement was in response to a post by the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem confirming multiple injuries and fatalities.
Though the motive has not yet been confirmed by law enforcement, Noem said “we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”
Shortly after, Vice President JD Vance responded to the post saying, “The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop.”
As of 10 a.m., the shooter and one other person have died. A third person was wounded. No law enforcement officers were injured in the shooting, according to Patel.
