All westbound Interstate 30 lanes between Fielder Road in Arlington and Eastchase Parkway in Fort Worth will be closed for planned bridge repairs during two weekends in September, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The closure is for emergency replacement of the Randol Mill Road bridge beams that were damaged by a tractor-trailer in June.

This was initially scheduled for Aug. 22-25, but now the construction could impact traffic to the TCU-SMU football game on Sept. 20.

When will I-30 be closed?

The repairs start at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and continue through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8.

Then in two weeks, the closure will from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22.

Drivers can take a detour from Arlington to Fort Worth. Westbound I-30 traffic will detour north on Texas 360, west on Texas 183, and south on Loop 820 to reconnect to I-30 beyond the closure.
