Bodies of 2 men recovered Sunday morning from Joe Pool Lake
The bodies of two men were recovered Sunday from a lake in Grand Prairie after they fell off a boat without life vests the day before, authorities said.
A public safety dive team responded to a report of two possible drownings at Joe Pool Lake about 4:25 p.m. May 10, according to a news release by the Grand Prairie Fire Department.
Witnesses reported that two men who were not wearing life jackets fell off a boat and did not resurface, according to the release.
The dive team initiated a search until dark and resumed operations Sunday morning and recovered the bodies, authorities said.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the men who died as 23-year-old Koby Anthony Daniels and 33-year-old Guy Duvonte Hamilton.
“As the lake season begins, Grand Prairie Fire Department strongly encourages the public to wear a life vest or an appropriate personal flotation device while near or in the water,” the release stated.
