The Amber Alert issued Thursday, May 1, for a missing west Texas girl has been canceled after the 10- year-old was found safe.

The girl had last been seen at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in the 500 block of N.W. Avenue G in Hamlin. Officials believed she was in grave or immediate danger.

The 10-year-old’s family said on Facebook late Thursday morning that she’d been found and was getting checked out to make sure she was OK. The family thanked everyone who helped look for her.

The girl had gone for a motorcycle ride with her uncle on Wednesday and didn’t come back, according to her family’s post.

Anyone with information about the girl or her uncle was asked to contact the Hamlin Police Department at 325-823-4604.

Hamlin is located in Jones and Fisher counties and is about 190 miles west of Fort Worth.
