Speeding motorcyclist killed in crash with pickup truck in Grand Prairie, police say

A motorcyclist speeding on Interstate 30 collided with a pickup truck and died on Saturday, March 9, Grand Prairie police said.

Around 6:50 p.m., officers respond to a accident in the 200 block of eastbound I-30. A motorcyclist and passenger were traveling east on I-30 when they collided with a Chevy pickup truck in slow moving traffic, police said.

Police said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chevy pickup was not injured.

A witness told police that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.

The identity of the person who died will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.

The crash is currently under investigation, police said.
