This North Texas town is finally getting a Costco. Here’s when, what to know
North Texas shoppers, get ready — Costco is officially opening in Weatherford on March 15.
The wholesale giant is bringing its signature bulk discounts, free food samples, and member-exclusive perks to Parker County for the first time.
Located at the northwest corner of Interstate 20 and Center Point Road, the 160,000-square-foot store will offer more than just groceries.
Shoppers will find a gas station, tire center, food court, optical and hearing aid centers, prescription services and more, making it a one-stop shop for just about everything.
Why is the new Costco location a big deal for North Texas?
Until now, the closest Costco for Weatherford residents was a 30-minute drive to Fort Worth, which meant a trip required some serious planning.
With this new spot, residents can now do a quick Costco run without having to gas up for a mini road trip.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the residents of Weatherford,” said Costco Warehouse Manager Dan Rioux. “They have been asking us to open here for a long time, and we already have made an impact on the local job market. We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways.”
This location is part of a bigger expansion push from the Washington-based retailer, which plans to open 29 new stores by August, according to USA Today. Once that happens, Costco will have more than 900 store locations worldwide.
What can Costco customers expect at the Weatherford location?
If you’re planning to check out the new Costco in Weatherford, you’ll need a membership to shop.
The retailer offers two options: a Gold Star Membership for $60 a year or an Executive Membership for $120 a year, which comes with 2% cashback on eligible purchases.
You can sign up in-store or online at Costco.com, so if you’re not a member yet, now’s the time to decide if those bulk savings are worth it.
The new store isn’t just bringing big deals — it’s also bringing more than 230 jobs to Parker County.
If you’re looking for work, Costco is hiring for roles in retail, customer service, and warehouse operations. Job listings can be found on the company’s careers page.
As for the grocery scene, Costco is adding even more competition to Parker County, joining Walmart, H-E-B, Albertsons, Target, Brookshire’s, and Aldi.
But unlike these traditional supermarkets, Costco is all about buying in bulk — which means bigger savings (if you don’t mind bringing home enough paper towels to last a year).
What are the Weatherford Costco’s hours?
- 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday – Friday
- 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday
- 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday
With Costco’s reputation for grand opening crowds, drivers should prepare for increased traffic near Center Point Road and I-20, especially in the first few weeks.
Customers planning to visit the new location should consider shopping during non-peak hours, which are typically in the evenings.
Experts suggest that midweek afternoons, particularly between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays, are good times to visit, since those time periods experience lighter crowds.
