A North Texas neighborhood is on alert after a family’s doorbell camera captured a stranger wearing a satanic mask and holding a sign with an apocalyptic reference from the Bible approaching the home.

The incident took place Saturday night, Jan. 18, in Carrollton. The video, which was posted on Nextdoor, shows a figure in a red mask with horns and dressed in all black clothing ring the front doorbell. The stranger then steps back, prominently displaying a handwritten sign that reads Revelation 20:1-15. After a brief pause, the masked person knocks on the door and walks away.

The person was also seen in back of the house standing in front of a driveway camera, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported. The homeowners told WFAA that they’ve lived in that location for decades. They have no idea who the person is or what message they intended to convey.

Revelation 20 is one of the last chapters in the Bible. It speaks of the defeat of Satan and the final judgment of humanity.

Neighbor Scott Geairn, who saw the footage, told WFAA that it was just weird.

“I was a little rattled that night, I will say that,” Geairn said to WFAA.

Another neighbor, Gloria Johns, told WFAA that nothing like this has happened in the neighborhood before.

“That’s the kind of stuff you would see at Halloween,” she said.

The homeowners filed a report with the Carrollton police. Police said the stranger couldn’t be considered a trespasser, but promised to monitor the situation. Trespassing involves crossing a physical barrier like a fence, ignoring verbal warnings from residents or staying on the property after being ordered to leave.

According to Carrollton police, no one else has reported seeing the masked figure, according to WFAA. Residents are asked to let police know if they see anything suspicious.
