Grand Prairie police are investigating a fatal crash that left two people dead on Monday, Jan. 13.

Police said the accident happened early morning at the intersection of the north Texas 161 service road and the westbound Interstate 30 service road.

The crash happened about 4 a.m. when a Nissan sedan was traveling west on the I-30 service road and collided with a Dodge pickup truck that was heading south on the 161 service road, police said.

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said there were no other passengers in either vehicle.

The witness told investigators that the driver of the Nissan failed to stop for a red light, police said.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.
