The department store chain Macy’s will close 66 store locations, including its store in Fort Worth’s West Bend shopping center, according to a statement from the company.

The closures come as Macy’s seeks to “return the company to sustainable, profitable sales growth,” the statement reads.

Other locations closing in North Texas include stores in Southlake, Plano and Flower Mound, according to a list of the affected locations released by the company.

Over a three-year period, the department store chain will close 150 “underproductive” stores and continue to invest in 350 other locations, officials with the company said.

“Closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go–forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service,” Macy’s CEO Tony Spring said.

Most of the closures are expected to happen during the first quarter of this year, according to a list of the closing locations.
