The statewide Texas Amber Alert issued for a missing Athens girls was canceled Friday night after the 11-year-old was found safe.

The girl had been last seen in the 6200 block of County Road 3925 in Athens around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. It was believed she had been picked up by an unknown person.

Officials were concerned the 11-year-old was in grave or immediate danger.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office at 903-677-6311 or call 911.

Athens is located in Henderson County and is a little over 100 miles southeast of Fort Worth.
