Fire destroys house near Aledo in Parker County

Firefighters were unable to save a 4,000-square-foot single-family home Wednesday night after they arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

Two people were displaced by the fire in the 12000 block of Aledo Iona Road in rural Parker County just east of Aledo, said Parker County spokesman Joel Kertok.

“There are no injuries, but their house is a complete loss,” Kertok said.

The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the residents and help the Aledo Volunteer Fire Department avoid heatstroke, he said.

Kertok said he did not know the cause of the fire.

Parker County emergency services assisted. The Fort Worth Fire Department also sent units, but they weren’t needed, he said. Twenty pieces of fire apparatus were at the scene.
