76-year-old pedestrian fatally struck by car after falling on North Texas street

A 76-year-old pedestrian died in Cleburne after he fell on the street and a car hit him, according to police.

The Cleburne Police Department responded to the auto-pedestrian crash in the 1700 block of West Henderson Street on Tuesday Oct. 30 at about 7:50 p.m., according to a police news release posted Wednesday.

The pedestrian, identified as Charles Drum, was crossing West Henderson Street northbound when he fell in the roadway and was struck by a 2004 Toyota Tundra, which was headed east, police said.

Drum, a Glen Rose resident, was transported to Texas Health Cleburne hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Toyota Tundra did not sustain any injuries. The crash occurred about 500 feet west of the intersection of Henderson Street and Nolan River Road, investigators said.

The crash is still under investigation by the Cleburne Police Department. No charges have been announced.
