9-year-old girl dies in hospital after June 1 car wreck in north Fort Worth

A 9-year-old who was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on June 1 in north Fort Worth died Sunday, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Isabella Grace Nave died due to blunt force neck and head injuries, according to the medical examiner’s office. Her death has been ruled an accident.

The crash happened around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Avondale Haslet Road and Sendera Ranch Boulevard, in between U.S. 287 and Interstate 35W, according to police.

Investigators have learned that a maroon Chrysler minivan and a blue Volvo collided there. Isabella was taken to the hospital and two other people sustained minor injuries.

Isabella’s family has set up a GoFundMe, asking for help covering costs. The fundraiser was set up before she died and was meant to help with medical bills. Now, the family is asking for money to help with a funeral and legal costs.

“We need your help to help our grieving family,” a family member wrote in the description.

Police have asked anybody with information about the crash to contact Detective C.L. Carter from the department’s Traffic Investigations Unit at 817-392-4885. If Carter does not pick up, callers are asked to leave a message including their name and phone number.
