Driver killed, 2 passengers injured when car hits bridge in Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie police are investigating what led to a fatal crash in which a car hit a bridge on Saturday night.

A Scion passenger car was traveling east in the 4400 block of East Jefferson Street when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and the car hit a cement bridge cap, police said in a news release.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and will be identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office after the next of kin have been notified.

Two passengers were taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The accident was reported about 6:45 p.m.
