Grand Prairie police have arrested a 24-year-old woman in a Sunday morning crash near the intersection of Belt Line Road and Lakeview Drive that left one man dead.

Clesiz Leiva faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a department news release published Monday afternoon. Officials say Leiva crashed into an oncoming vehicle at around 7:20 a.m. after veering out of her lane, killing the driver and injuring a passenger.

Leiva sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital after the collision. She’s currently being held at Grand Prairie Detention Center on a $100,000 bond for the manslaughter charge and a $25,000 bond for the assault charge.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased as 33-year-old Carlos Alberto Arias Vera. Grand Prairie police are still investigating the matter.
