Colleyville is commissioning six life-sized bronze statues to represent each branch of the military as part of the city’s Heroes Park project.

Colleyville is creating the park on vacant land just south of city hall to honor military and local heroes and to have ample space for events.

The six military branches are the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force.

On Dec. 19, the City Council voted unanimously to purchase six custom bronze statues from the Randolph Rose Collection based in Yonkers, N.Y., for $272,800. The city is using capital funds for the $6.4 million park.

A committee of veterans and residents made recommendations for the Heroes Park project.

“This has been a great effort together and a great collaboration in the community,” mayor Bobby Lindamood said during the council meeting.

Residents are invited to an open house at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Dr., to ask questions and learn more about the park. In March, the city’s design consultant Freese and Nichols will present plans showing 60% of the design for the Heroes Park project.
