Fort Worth changes garbage collection days for weeks of Christmas and New Year’s

Fort Worth is altering its garbage pickup schedule in the coming weeks due to the holidays.

There will be no solid waste collections at all on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, according to the city. This means that there will be no garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk collection services.

Additionally, the collection schedule will be temporarily adjusted from Dec. 25 to Jan. 6:

  • Monday pickup day will be moved to Tuesday.
  • Tuesday will shift to Wednesday.
  • Wednesday shifts to Thursday.
  • Thursday collection moves to Friday.
  • Friday services move to Saturday.

Bulk waste collections resumes on Tuesday, per the city. Normal collection schedules will resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.

The city’s four drop-off stations, where residents can bring additional garbage, and the Environmental Collection Center will close on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The stations and center will reopen on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
