Here’s where to find the cheapest gas in Fort Worth as prices tumble to under $3 a gallon
The average gas price in Fort Worth has fallen 19 cents in the last week, hovering around $2.91 a gallon.
Gas prices in Tarrant County are 47.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and 38.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy, a website that tracks gas prices in the U.S.
Now, the conflict in the Middle East could upend prices later this year in Texas. Analysts fear the instability could wreak havoc with the oil markets. Just a year after Russia invaded Ukraine — a war that set gas prices soaring — the attack on Israel by Hamas militants could set off a similar spike in oil costs in the U.S.
For now, much of Texas is seeing prices per gallon fall under $3. Fort Worth isn’t the only Texas city where the average gas price fell in the past week:
- Dallas: $2.94 per gallon, 19.6 cents decrease.
- Waco: $2.96 per gallon, 10.9 cents decrease.
- College Station: $3.27 per gallon, 4.8 cents decrease.
“The downward momentum has indeed gained steam, with the national average declining over the last week with again virtually every village, town, city, region and state seeing gasoline prices fall — with the added bonus that diesel prices have also declined,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
