Human skeletal remains were found behind a Tarrant County business Monday morning, according to a news release from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

Out of sight from patrons and drivers passing the area, the sheriff’s office said, the remains were in the 12000 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard.

The sheriff’s office said it will not release any other information about the remains, including where they were that made them hidden from patrons and passersby, the size of the remains or any specifics about the condition they were in, citing an ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s office also did not say whether investigators have reason to believe the death of the person involved foul play, or if the remains have been at that location for a long time or were dumped there recently

The skeletal remains have been handed over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will attempt to identify them and determine a cause and manner of death.

If it is able to identify the remains, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will publicly release the identity after next-of-kin has been notified.
