A North Texas barbecue joint will soon be featured on a show that rounds up the best restaurants in the country.

America’s Best Restaurants is heading to Newark next week to film an episode on Local Craft BBQ. The barbecue joint opened its doors in 2022 and has been serving smoked meats ever since at 412 FM 718.

The show will be in Newark to try the barbecue and speak with the eatery’s owners and brothers — Jason and Steve Blount. The film crew will be at the restaurant from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and its encouraging the community to swing by and chow down.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Jason Blount told the Star-Telegram on Wednesday.

Local Craft BBQ’s is all about, you guessed it, smoked meats and sides. The eatery also serves up sandwiches and baked potatoes, alongside the brisket, pulled pork and smoked turkey breast.

America’s Best Restaurants travels across the country bringing attention to local and independent-owned eateries. Each episode sees the show’s various hosts taste the food and chat with the people behind the restaurants.

The episode on Local Craft BBQ will air on America’s Best Restaurants’ social media channels at a later date.
