Restaurant and bar in Keller inspired by town’s railroad history is closing. Here’s why
A popular bar and restaurant located in Keller’s “Old Town” neighborhood has closed.
The Station Patio Icehouse announced Sunday across its various social media platforms that it is closing. The bar opened in Keller nearly five years ago in October 2018 at 111 West Vine St.
In the post, the bar cites “unforeseen circumstances” for the closure while thanking its patrons and the larger Keller community.
“We have enjoyed being part of the Keller community, and serving the old town Keller patrons. We will keep everyone posted and wish you all the best!” the post reads.
The bar and restaurant served a variety of food from burgers and sandwiches, to pizzas and a few entrees. Known for its train theme, the eatery was inspired by Keller’s railroad past.
“The stars aligned when we found this place,” co-founder Rick Figueroa told the Star-Telegram in 2017. “There’s the whole history of the railroad station. There’s an historic railroad locomotive right in front of our building. That’s why a lot of things jelled.”
