Bedford motorcyle officer, another driver injured in Friday morning collision, police say

A motorcycle officer with the Bedford Police Department and another driver were injured when their vehicles collided Friday morning, officials said.

The officer had lights and sirens activated and was in pursuit of a speeding motorist on Central Drive near the Chattanooga Drive intersection around 7:30 a.m. Another vehicle turned onto Central Drive and collided with the officer, Bedford police said in a social media post.

The officer and the other driver were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is under investigation, police said.
