The biggest holiday for Texans is coming up: Whataburger Day.

While not a federal holiday, Aug. 8 is recognized as Whataburger Day by the San Antonio-based company to honor the day the chain was founded. This year the restaurant that serves up the Triple Meat Whataburger celebrates 73 years of serving ground beef burgers. The first Whataburger opened on Aug. 8, 1950 in Corpus Christi.

In honor of its special day Whataburger is handing out free burgers to rewards members on Aug. 7 and 8. Here’s what hungry fans need to do:

  • Download the Whataburger app.
  • Create a Whataburger rewards account.
  • Have at least one order on the app within the past year.
  • Visit your local Whataburger and redeem the free burger.

There are over 940 Whataburger locations across the country, with more than 700 located in Texas, according to ScrapeHero. Find the Whataburger closest to you.
