Texas strawberries are in season right now. Here are farms within two hours of Fort Worth
It’s officially strawberry season in Texas, having started in late February and set to end by early June.
Looking for places to pick your own strawberries in North Texas? These strawberry farms are perfect, and they’re within a two hour drive of Fort Worth.
Demases Farm

Boyd’s Demases Farm, established in 1919, is a fourth generation working produce farm that is family owned and operated. On Saturday, May 13, the farm will have strawberry picking, handmade pottery perfect for a mother’s day gift and yummy food. Dessert and homemade candies will be available from the kitchen of LaNell Earnest, pottery from The Wright House Arts, BBQ from West Fork BBQ and snow cones from Ice Ice Sisters. Picking starts at 10 a.m. Strawberries are $7 per pound.
Only pick the really red ripe berries, the farm recommends, as strawberries do not ripen if picked half green. They will be sour and we will have less berries that will ripen for the next picking. Wear appropriate footwear, such as tennis shoes or boots.
Goober Bub’s

Goober Bub’s is a family-run orchard featuring U-Pick strawberries, baked goods, local honey, homemade jams and fresh blackberries. Strawberries are $7 per pound and jam is $12. Check out their website or social media for updates on weekly picking times, which are posted on Sunday evening. The strawberry season lasts around six weeks, from April to May.
Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm

This Pilot Point strawberry farm with more than 90,000 plants is owned by Chris and Kylie Demases, on land that has been in their family for over 100 years. The farm’s strawberry season generally runs from April to early June, with peak harvest the second week of May. Aside from abundant fresh strawberries, the farm also sells strawberry lemonade, strawberry ice cream, strawberry jam and strawberry hanging baskets.
On Friday, May 12 from 3 to 7 p.m., the farm will host a pre-Mother’s Day hanging basket pop-up sale. Always check social media for field conditions and quantity updates prior to your visit, the farm says. Strawberries are $8 per pound.
H Strawberry Farm
