‘Expect to get blown away.’ Meet one woman pitmaster at this popular Texas barbecue spot

Goldee’s BBQ pitmaster Cecilia Guerrero is used to a jam-packed schedule and long lines.

She smokes meat, bakes bread, washes dishes and jokes with her co-workers throughout it all. She takes photos with customers that wait hours in line to try the brisket she started smoking at 5:30 a.m.

Guerrero provides an inside look into the restaurant that was recognized 2021’s best BBQ in the state by Texas Monthly.
