Here are free parking options downtown for dueling Fort Worth art festivals this weekend
With two art festivals taking over downtown Fort Worth this weekend, it could be a headache finding where to park or how to get there.
The 36th annual Main Street Arts Festival returns to downtown from Thursday till Sunday. The Fort Worth Art Fair is also returning to Sundance Square for the second year in a row.
While both art festivals are operated by separate entities, they will be located in generally the same downtown area. From parking garages to public transportation, here’s how to get to both events this weekend:
Free parking garages in downtown
There are a variety of parking garages around downtown that offer free rates. The garages below are open for free parking from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday, after 6 p.m. on Friday and all-day on Saturday and Sunday.
- Sundance Square garage #3 at 345 W. 3rd St.
- Sundance Square garage #4 at 265 W. Fifth St.
- City Center Garage at 400 Jones St.
- The Tower Garage at 400 Taylor St.
- 777 Main Parking Garage at 601 Commerce St.
Each of the garages above are located within a 10-minute walk of both events.
Public transportation to downtown
Trinity Metro has several options for those looking to ditch their vehicles this weekend. A $5 local day ticket will give you all-day access to bus, Trinity Railway Express, TEXRail and ZIPZONE services.
Bus routes 1, 2, 5, 6, 11, 12, 15, 46 and 89, all lead to the Fort Worth Central Station which is just minutes away from both festivals. Plan your bus trip here.

ZIPZONE service can be accessed through its phone app and can drop off passengers as close as the Fort Worth T&P Station, which is about a 15-minute walk to either event.
