Frozen chicken trailer on way to California catches fire near Grand Prairie, officials say
A trailer carrying 21 tons of frozen chicken caught fire overnight Tuesday on Interstate 30 near Grand Prairie, officials said.
Some lanes on I-30 were partially closed early Wednesday due to the accident, according to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV. Two lanes were open as of 9:30 a.m.
The driver was pulling a trailer loaded with 42,000 pounds of frozen chicken from Arkansas to Long Beach, California, WFAA said. He pulled over near Loop 12 due to an airbrake failure and saw the fire when he got out of his semi-truck.
No one was injured in the fire, according to WFAA.
