If you’re in a pickle over what to do for spring break, look no further than the pickle capital of Texas: Mansfield.

This year marks the 12th annual Pickle Parade and Palooza which runs March 17-18 in downtown Mansfield.

The free event is organized by all-volunteer nonprofit Pickled Mansfield Society and includes parades, a pickle playground, 10K, 5K and kids runs and live music on two stages. Pickle eating, pickle juice drinking and pie eating contests are also planned along with a cornhole tournament and beer keg race.

There will be a vendor market and food booths for guests to shop and enjoy a refreshment during the event.

Festivities kick off 5 p.m. March 17 with a cornhole tournament followed by the beer keg race at 6 p.m. and a concert by LanceBattalion at 7 p.m.

The Pickle Parade will move through downtown at noon March 18 featuring the — Pickle Queens, wearing red wigs and green prom dresses — the Pickle Dude and their entourage.
