Pedestrian hit by train dies in south Tarrant County, sheriff’s office says

An unidentified man died after being hit by a train Thursday afternoon in Tarrant County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to the scene in the 7500 block of Hudson Cemetery Road, south of Kennedale, shortly before 1 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Deputies performed CPR on the man, who died after being taken to a hospital by paramedics.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and release the man’s name.

Further information about how the fatality happened wasn’t immediately available. The sheriff’s office said the incident involved a Union Pacific Railroad train and referred questions to the railroad.

A railroad spokesperson said in an email that a northbound Union Pacific train hit the pedestrian near the intersection of Hudson Cemetery Road and South Eden Road.

The train crew was not injured.

Union Pacific said the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
