A student at Alvord High School in Wise County died over the weekend, according to the school district.

Superintendent Randy Brown said in a text message that he cannot confirm the cause of death or the circumstances. The Wise County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached for comment.

Assistant principal Brandy Mayfield sent parents and students an email on Sunday that said the district would have counselors on hand Sunday and Monday to provide support to students and teachers.

The Alvord school district is asking everyone to wear pink, camo or both on Tuesday to honor the student and her family.
