Bedford man gets probation in intoxication manslaughter case
A 31-year-old man received 10 years’ probation on an intoxication manslaughter conviction after a one-vehicle wreck in Bedford last year killed a passenger in his car.
Assis Dacostae Silva of Bedford pleaded guilty July 1 to one count of intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced Wednesday, according to court records filed with the Tarrant County district clerk’s office.
The wreck occurred July 19 in the 2800 block of Texas 183.
According to Bedford police, Silva was driving a 2012 Kia westbound when he lost control of the car, which struck a guardrail and flipped.
The passenger, Marcos Ribeiro, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:25 a.m.
