A 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded early Monday by a gunman in a car in southeast Fort Worth, authorities said.
A 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded early Monday by a gunman in a car in southeast Fort Worth, authorities said.

A 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded early Monday as he was sitting outside of a residence in southeast Fort Worth, police said.

Gang officers responded to the scene, but no one had been arrested.

The teen was taken to a local hospital in good condition.

Fort Worth police responded to the shooting call just before 2:30 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of East Tucker Street.

When they arrived, police found a 17-year-old boy who had suffered a single gunshot wound to his right hip/thigh region.

The teen stated that he had been seated outside of a home when an unknown suspect drove by the front of the residence. The victim stated the suspect produced and then discharged a firearm striking him in the hip/thigh region.

Police had no information on a motive for the shooting.

Gun violence unit detectives are investigating the incident.
