A car struck and killed two pedestrians in Lewisville on Tuesday morning, police said.

According to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV and police, a driver on Round Grove Road hit a man and woman around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. The pedestrians were both pronounced dead at a hospital.

The names of the people who died haven’t been made public, but authorities said they were 30 to 40 years old.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene of the accident.

The area around Round Grove Road and Rockbrook Drive was closed Tuesday morning so police could clean up the area and investigate the accident.
