A Fort Worth man died Wednesday in a head-on collision in Wise County and three other people were injured, the Wise County Messenger reported.

The man, identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety as 51-year-old Roosevelt King Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, the Messenger reported. The extent of the others’ injuries isn’t known.

The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday on Farm Road 51 northeast of Decatur.

Texas DPS told DFW Scanner that the driver of the vehicle King was riding in tried to pass an 18-wheeler on a hill in a no-passing zone. An oncoming pickup crested the hill at that moment and the two vehicles collided head on. King was thrown out of the car.

The driver, identified in the Wise County Messenger as 32-year-old Gloria Alvarado from Fort Worth, was taken to Wise Health System.

The driver of the pickup, identified by the Messenger as 75-year-old Ronnie Walker and the passenger, 71-year-old Linda Walker, were airlifted to Medical City Denton.
