Denton woman dies in pool accident
A Denton woman died Sunday evening after she was found in a residential swimming pool, officials said Monday.
Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified her as Jessica Ramirez, 20, of Denton. A ruling on the cause of her death is pending an autopsy.
Ramirez was pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.
She was found in a private pool in the 7600 block of U.S. 380 in Cross Roads, a town just east of Denton in Denton County.
Other people were at the residence, but authorities did not release any other details.
She was the second young adult to die in water during the holiday weekend. In Granbury, an 18-year-old died after she went swimming at City Beach and disappeared underwater Saturday, officials said.
Authorities identified her as Aylin Pimentel, 18, of Comanche.
She was pulled out of the water, given cardiopulmonary resuscitation and taken to Lake Granbury Medical Center.
