Choosing between red or white wine is just the tip of the cork at Grapevine’s grapiest festival this fall.

Tickets are now on sale for Grapevine’s 36th annual “GrapeFest- A Texas Wine Experience,” coming to the city from Sept. 15-18. Tickets start at $10 for single day admission and $20 for the weekend. Admission is free on Thursday.

The festival is a celebration of all things Texas wine, from VIP tasting experiences to charcuterie board workshops. There will also be live art demonstrations from several artists along the festival grounds.

A signature event at the festival — People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic — will see 35 Texas-based wineries competing against each other for bragging rights. Sips from over 100 different wines will be available to taste.

Another event in the festival is the Liberty Park Plaza Wine Experience, which offers an international wine tasting experience with wines from from Italy to California. The festival’s Champagne Terrace will be open and pouring mimosas, poinsettias and a variety of champagnes if wine is not your beverage of choice.

GrapeFest features many family friendly events including GrapeStomp, in which teams of two take turns crushing approximately 18 pounds of grapes for two minutes.

Festival guests will have plenty to do, from a champagne cork shoot-off to a grape stomping competition — as two-person teams see how much juice they can extract from 18 pounds of grapes in two minutes. Live music from over a dozen musical acts will keep the four-day festival a rocking.

Here’s the GrapeFest schedule:

  • Sept. 16 — 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. with admission free until 5 p.m.
  • Sept. 17 — 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. with paid admission.
