A woman is safe today after Tarrant County sheriff’s deputies, Watauga police and Watauga firefighters helped her off the roof of a building in the city while she was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were driving by a local business near Watauga Road and Bonnie Drive one day this week when they noticed the woman on the roof of the business, according to the release. They feared she was going to jump from the roof and called for help from Watauga police and the fire department.

Police and the deptties were able to get on the roof and start talking to the woman while firefighters brought a ladder truck, the sheriff’s office said. When the truck arrived, the team of law enforcement and firefighters were able to get the woman safely off the roof using the ladder.

The woman was taken to a mental health care facility by Watauga police.
