The Euless Police Department is reminding concerned residents that the Euless Police Officers Benevolent Organization has set up an account for those who wish to donate to the family of Detective Alejandro “Alex” Cervantes, who died in a crash on Nov. 27.

Cervantes was in the car with his wife and their two sons when police allege another vehicle, whose driver was under the influence, ran a stop light and crashed into the Cervantes’ family car near Boat Club Road and Rocky Point Trail in Lake Worth.

On the day of the crash, Cervantes’ wife was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

On Wednesday, the Euless Police Department said she remains sedated but healing appropriately, with doctors reporting signs of improvement each day.

The Cervantes boys are continuing to build strength at home and resting comfortably surrounded by loved ones, according to a department statement.

Those who would like to donate to the Cervantes family can do so at https://bit.ly/3I4a6dC or by scanning a QR code using a smart phone camera. The department said the donation link is the only one approved by the department and the Cervantes family.

The Euless Police Officers Benevolent Organization has set up an account for donations for the family of Alex Cervantes, which is the only fundraiser approved by the police department and the family. This QR code links to the website.
