Benbrook issues boil water notice for some residents following water main break
Parts of Benbrook have been issued a boil water notice following a drop in water pressure from a water main break on Tuesday.
As of 2 p.m., the affected areas include Mont Del, Meadows West, areas north of Loop 820 and east of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, according to the town’s website.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Benbrook Water Authority to notify all affected customers to boil their water prior to consumption, which includes hand and face washing, brushing teeth and drinking, according to the town. Officials warned children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria and all those affected should follow the boil notice.
Public water system officials will notify residents when the notice has been lifted and the water is safe for consumption purposes.
